V in the Keys
I'm a 55 year old retired merchant marine engineer living in Key Largo. I just bought an '08 red Versys from AAParatrooper (Rod) in Ft. Bragg, NC sight unseen! I was close to pulling the trigger on the new green one up in Cherry Hill, NJ but decided that the combination of price and all the equipment I wanted was already to be found on Rod's excellent '08. I will only have a few months to ride it before I take off on a cruise through Central America aboard my catamaran S/V Happy Endings. I'll be riding the bike plenty upon my return next summer as I plan to tour the country extensively.
Last bike was a Ducati ST3 which I loved but just couldn't see laying up for that long plus I wanted the next bike to be as free of fiberglass panels as possible. Prior to this bike, I bid on a couple of Multistradas which were the inspiration for the Versys but they were not to be. I'm sure that I'll love the Versys--I've had three other Kaws and each served me well. Anyone riding thru the Keys in the next month shout out.
Wednesday October 14th I'll be riding the bike back to the Keys via a few friends' places along the way. Maybe I'll see ya?
