New member in the Philippines

The Versys looks like a fun bike for touring here in the Philippines, but I don't have one yet. I've ridden about 80,000km here in the past six years, but on lightweight bikes, from 115cc scooters to 125cc Hondas, even a sluggish 150cc Chinese cruiser. I would like to know if any others have experience with the Versys on varied Philippine roads, from paved to rough, rutted gravel?

I believe the Versys is well represented in the Phillippines. Take a look on youtube. I've definitely seen some clubs from that part of the world there.

So far as off paved road scenarios go, these guys put a bunch of Versys' through more than most: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=7dwwr-UosGI

Thanks for your replies Goat 12. I wish I had taken videos of some of the hairy spots I have biked here, even on a Yamaha scooter with 14 inch wheels. I like the crash bars protecting the engine on your bike, as well as the color.

Goat 12, what brand crash bars and skid plate did you use on your bike? Were they easily installed? Skid plates especially are needed here.
