Hey folks!

I just joined up to browse around and keep up on the community. I don't currently own a bike, but i've been looking at the versys for a little while now, it seems to be the way to go for me. The financial situation is the only thing holding me back at the moment, so i've been working on saving up to pull the trigger on it. (Being a student sucks!) Hopefully i'll learn a lot from you guys around here (already have!) and be able to contribute something!

EDIT: Just wanted to add i'm from Cleveland, OH, so when I DO get a bike some of you Ohio guys are going to have to take a ride through hocking hills with me

Hello Snake,
Good for you, stay in school. What are you looking to do when you graduate?
You will soon see that there is a lot of well educated people posting on the forum and
when you buy a Versys you'll be one of them.
Seriously, I have been seeing some good prices on lightly used 08's. That may be the way to go on a limited budget. The couple that I have seen have been in very good shape with 6 to 8 K on the clock and going for around $4500.00. I consider that quit reasonable for an outstanding all-rounder and from reading these posts many of these machines are very well cared for.
I hope you can find as much enjoyment in reading this forum as I have over the few short months I have been a member. Take care and good luck in your endeavors.
Steve

Welcome to the board Snake.
I would be happy to ride with you, I am an hour south of Cleveland in Amish Country. The roads start getting good down here, and I wouldn't mind showing you some of them.

Going for a Bachlors in Buisness Admin at the moment, that may change.

And yeah that's what i've been looking at as well, a used 08.

As long as it's in good shape I don't see a problem

Sounds like fun lorazepam. Hopefully I can get the funds sooner rather than later. I hope to have it for riding season next year.

Is there any truth to kawi dealers giving better deals in the winter? Can you wheel and deal with them on new bikes, just used bikes, or are prices all pretty firm?

A foot of snow and no customers in the showroom is definitely an incentive for a salesman to make a deal on a bike.

My thoughts exactly. I'm going to go scope out Ohio Motorcycle after school, since that's really the only kawi dealer I can find in the area
