Hoy hoy from Columbus,Ohio

Hey all, last week I finally got around to get a choke cable for my trusty '02 KLR 650. Of course I had to go to the dealer to get that taken care of. While there, I was checkin' out the Suzi DL 1000. When I got home I did some research, that was not really favorable to the bike. And I talked to a co-worker that said the same thing.

Friday I went back to the dealer to pick up the cable. While I was waiting I happened to spy the Versys. I looked it over closely, and when I got home did the research. This time, most all of it was favorable. I've been perfectly content with the performance of my KLR 650, but I haven't been using it to it's full potential as a dual sport bike. Since my ownership, I've only had it off road twice.

So seeing what the reviews had to say, I thought the Versys would be better suited to what I need in a bike. Yesterday I went back to talk turkey, and sometime this week I'll trade in my KLR for a Plasma Blue Versys. I also will be getting the side cases and tall wind shield. And when I get some money back on all the removed KLR upgrades I may get the gel seat.

Well, I hate leaving the KLR forum. That group was so helpful when needed. But I'm looking forward to meeting a new group of fellow bike owners. So for now

Welcome aboard Tom! Let's hope we can help fill the void left by leaving the KLR forum.

One thing I noticed right away is the world community here. The KLR forum is mostly State side Joes. Good to know there's another Buckeye mcampna, where do you hail from?

Welcome Tom! It seems that there is a strong contingent of Ohio riders here. I think you will be very happy with the Versys, a much better road bike than the KLR.

If6was9,

The KLR is a work horse but the Versys will be a speedy work horse with a few ponies. Hope you enjoy your V.

Loved the look of your ex-KLR. My family had 3 Tengai so I know how you feel....

Best Regards.

Welcome to the darkside and away from the KLR, and I usually still check out KLRWorld forum as we have a Versys section.

I had an '08 KLR but it was too heavy to pick up when off roading.

Some people like to go out dancing
And other people, (like us) they gotta work - Sweet Jane - Lou Reed

That's me, I gotta work a split twilight/midnight shift. Thinkin' about takin' this Friday off though.

Just don't tell my you're my father, my name isn't Luke. I didn't know they opened up a Versys section at KLR World. I'm a member of that forum as well with the same ID, if6was9.
