New Kid

Well... I'm jumping the gun here... I'm not actually a owner yet, but in the process of buying my "new to me" Versys, but i wanted to get on here and do some research ahead of time. I found this little treasure on Craigslist... 2008, low miles, nice accessories ... just in the wrong color. But like my boyfriend said, color doesn't matter that much. Inside I'm screaming, YES IT DOES! But maybe it'll grow on me. It's red in color and I'm more of a black kinda person, so either it'll end up getting painted down the road or I'll understand the "color doesn't matter" deal.

CANNOT wait to get my new toy, hopefully picking it up Sunday. It's a bit chilly to be riding, but they make ice tires for these things, right?

A little about me:
I'm a young lady from the midwest. Started out riding single track/offroad on my XT and FINALLY got over my anxiety of road riding, so wanted to purchase something to take down the highway; as the ol' 225 just doesn't really enjoy interstate speeds.

I'm hoping to find the time to take a trip to Yellowstone or somewhere cool this summer. I consider myself an Adventure Rider, so I gotta live up to that reputation.

Thanks for Reading!
I look forward to being a part of this forum!

Nice intro post, welcome to the forum

If it's any consolation, you don't get to admire the color much while you're riding. My V isn't the color I wanted either, I dig the bright yellow versions. Mine is a 2011 and they only came in dark red that year. I bought it new as a leftover at a price I couldn't refuse so...red it is!

Hope everything goes smoothly and you have your new bike soon. Should be in for a real treat coming from the XT.

Welcome

Glad your here. You will love the bike even if it's red. If it becomes a problem put a tank bag on it and you will not see as much of the red..
Once again Welcome

Picked 'er up Yesterday!

Thanks for all the kind words... and you're right... the red isn't all that bad. (still might get a paint job down the road though) And surprisingly, I can touch the ground ok without a lowering kit.

CAN'T WAIT TO RIDE! These stupid negative degree temps and the slick street tires are kind of putting a damper on things, but hopefully we will get a day warm enough to melt some of the ice away so I can take a ride.

Here's the beaut'

haha! I like that... Yeah, i think the lighting in the garage makes it look washed out. It's the normal Kawasaki red.

I actually like the red. I wish the silver plastic pieces were black though. I think the skidplate and the crashbars help the looks a lot-------
