Being 5'9" tall will that be ok for the seat height for 2014 Versy 650.

Welcome keoni.

I'm 5'8" with a 31 inseam. The bike felt very high to me when it was new, but after getting used to it I really like the height. I can just about flat foot both sides. I have to plan ahead parking sometimes as the Versys is hard to move backwards uphill, but everything else is easy.

Speedy's lowering kit is a popular option if you decide to lower the bike, but you should give it an honest try at stock first.

Good luck!

Always trust your cape.

I think you should be fine. I'm 5'11", however, with a short inseam (32"). The bike felt tall at first but for whatever reason it "shrinks" (you adapt, shift over slightly when stopping) and you no longer think of it as tall. The upright sitting position and the height give you a more commanding riding position above traffic. I can't imagine going to a shorter bike, but, as in all things in life, YMMV.

Was 5'9" but at age 66 have compressed to 5'8" and I only have a 29" inseam. I rode the Versy for a while stock and liked it, could not flat foot but having rode dirt bikes in the past I did not find that a great problem other then when trying to back up on a loose surface. Installed the Speedy lowering block and it fits me perfect , can flat foot and there are not any adverse handling problems that I can detect. However I have thought I may go back to stock because I like the extra 1.875" of rider vision.

+1

5'8"/30" inseam here... No problems at all for me with non-lowered 2011. Like ATYC said... just a bit of pre-planning now and again is all that is needed.

5'7" and not quite 30" inseam, I have the lowering link installed, wish I had done it sooner. YMMV

I think you will get use to it. I'm 5' 10" with a 32 inch inseam, and I can pretty much flat foot both feet with no luggage. But my CR's seat is a full 6 to 7 inches taller, and I manage. As I say you will most likely get use to it.

I'm 5'7 and 1/2" :-D seat height for me is ok (not perfect because it does feel high), and if i put both feet on the ground, I'm always on my toes. But I wouldn't want it any lower than that. I recently sold an R1 and I think it's 1" higher.
