New Rider in Littleton, CO

Hello All,

I am a new rider, and selected a 2008 Versys as my first bike. First impression is a very comfortable ride; however, I have little to compare it to, other than numerous bikes I sat on at various dealers. Seat height feels great for 6'2".

Very bare with minimal accessories other than grip protectors, so I am looking for some ideas on additional recommended accessories. I recently picked up a rear EMGO rear trunk at a thrift store--any thoughts would be appreciated.

Looking forward to the forums and wisdom.

Hello and welcome. I have a 2009 V with about 11,500 miles on it right now. Most of that is commuting from the SW Plaza area to the Meridian Office Park.

Then V is a lot of fun to ride. If you don't know it already, I'd suggest the ride up Deer Creek Canyon about 3 miles to the old Philipsburg townsite, then turn left on Deer Creek Road. This turns into High Grade and continues to Conifer. Lots of twists and tight sections to practice on!

Thanks jmason

Thanks for the Deer Creek Canyon suggestion, jmason. That is definitely on the list of rides. Also looking forward to Highway 105 from Sedalia down to Larkspur.
