first venture to the dark side

Hi all, I've always had Suzukis but recently picked up a 2007 Versys after much lurking around on this site. So far I am loving it except for the annoying buzz and my first mod was the rear rack from member KTMDuals. I will post there when I have permission. Am looking forward to adding a couple things over the cold Canadian winter and then touring next summer on 2-4 day trips. This site is great.

The buzz is an easy fix as you probably know. It's a great bike....as you probably know.

my grandfather emigrated from Kingston all the way south to Maine -in 1887! Must have been too cold for him.

Foam tape. Lots of info on how to get rid of the buzz. Also remove the wind shield and test the bike for buzz without it. If shield is the cause of the buzz make sure the rubber grommets are properly seated. Make sure all the fairing attachment screws can screw in tightly. Put some foam tape on the top of the tab on the dash panel.

Your title indicated that you put a car tire on your bike? Why would you do that on a sport bike?

yes it is. I never thought I would like an orange motorcycle but this one sure caught my eye. BTW, my daughter moved to Kelowna in the spring and I was able to spend 3 days touring around BC on a rented V-Strom. Its gorgeous out there isnt it and I can certainly see myself moving there some day.

yes, god bless the internet and forums such as this. It doesnt appear to be hard to do as long as I take my time and make sure I hit every spot I think. I think I'd be more concerned if mine was one of the FEW that did it. I rented an 07 V-Strom for a 3 day trip and it had a similar thing. Expect it wasnt constant but would come on really loud at a certain RPM then almost disappear.

by the "dark side" I meant buying a Kawasaki after a lifetime [38 years riding minus a few for the kiddie years] of being a Suzi owner.

On a Brit 'bikers forum I used to be a member of going over to "The Dark Side" meant you were buying a BMW!!!

I personally think the "you have seen the light", but at least you didn't buy a bloody KLR, coz then you would know what BUZZ meant!!!
