newbie

Hi all versies new to the site just traded up from a ninja 500 to a 2012 versys 650, thought it was an ugly bike at first but it has since grown on me.
But it's a popular design as I see other bike are starting to look just like it eg:
the new honda 500 cbx and the ducati hyperstrata.
I've already changed the oil in it and put a givi windshield and rad guard on it.
Now if I can just do something about that seat.

Welcome

Welcome from Newfoundland, Canada. Just bite the bullet and purchase an air hawk seat. Lots of info here on them, or just do as I did. Take the seat off. peal back the covering and put some cut up pool noodle foam in there, staple it back together... not more man parts pushing up against the tank!!

I figured it out!! A good day is when you can't see through your visor or windshield b/c of the bug splatter!!!!

Welcome to the family! You'll find plenty of seat advice here... I use an Airhawk medium cruiser pad myself and I'm no longer concerned with the stock seat.
Make sure you get yourself placed on the Versys Owner/Riders Map so we know where you are...

The best thing about an ugly bike it that you can't see it from the saddle. And what others think doesn't really matter.

I wonder - are the Canadians in the majority on this forum now? Seems to me us colonists in the lower 48 are being overwhelmed, which is curious considering your seven week riding season.
