Howdy from Texas

Hi guys. Proud new owner of an 08 Red Versys (is there any other kind yet in the states? ) in the Dallas area.

I have about 19 years riding experience. My Bikeography is...

Honda Aero 125 scooter
Honda XL 80
86 Honda VF 500F Interceptor
93 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6E
95 Honda CBR600F3
98 Suzuki TL1000S
98 Ducat 900SS CR
97 Suzuki Bandit 600S
08 Versys

I absolutely love the Versys. I have been waiting along time for a bike like this to come to America. I see it as a Multistrada that doesnt require the maintenance. After owning one Ducati I simply will never go back. Not until they up their valve check intervals. And even then they cost to much.

Anyway, glad to be here. I will probably have many questions and hopefully will be able to help out somebody with my hard earned knowledge. Wait, at this age, I am supposed to know something right? What went wrong?

I find myself asking the same questions many times...

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the big welcome guys. Its really good to feel part of a site like this.

Boiler, I agree, cats rule. You can check out my flickr sit for a couple of more pics of my cat. Her name is Caprice Tattercat the Ace of Spades.

There are also some of my general photography pics including some I took at last years Moto GP at Laguna Seca. My fiances brother in law is, get this, Hondas Moto GP photographer. He got us some sweet passes! Thats him on my flickr site standing behind Fabio. Yeah, he was at the race...apparently Fabio is a huge bike nut.

Thanks again guys.

Welcome

Welcome! I am up near the border in Wichita Falls.

I do some riding in the Metroplex once in a while. I will probably be heading down to Roanoke next weekend to meet up with some other riders.

I have about 1100 miles on mine now and it gets better every day!

Ride safe!

Hey Saki Cat,

Greetings! I live down in the Rio Grande Valley just across the bay from South Padre Island in Laguna Vista. I just bought a used Versys in the Dallas area and am going to fly in to pick it up and ride home. I too am a long term rider and am excited to replce my Honda XR650L with the Versys for my daily 60 mile commute. I sounds like you have a great ridiong family. No stars in my pedigree, but my daughter (Suki GS500F) and grandchildren (still on minis) ride as well which makes for a lot of fun.
