Hello from Chiang Mai

Hi, I'm an Aussie living here in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a year now, bought my Versys about three weeks after arriving, got about 9,000 kms on it now.
I had the seat modified three times until I was happy with it. The first two times cost 300 baht ($10) each time, better but not quite right. The last time I took it to someone else, it's just fine for me now but I had to spend the exorbitant sum of 1500 baht ($50). It's approx. an inch higher at the front so I am no longer sliding towards the fuel tank. I also have some wooden massage beads on the seat, which raises the sitting position just that little bit more. (It's great at over 70 kmph, you get a nice breeze flowing between your legs, no more sweaty crotch.
The only other modification I have done so far is replacing the original screen with the Kawasaki (made by MRA) taller screen with the adjustable lip spoiler.
The roads here in the north are just great for touring. Winding mountain roads through jungle, fantastic.

You lucky dog... I lived in Udon Thani and Nakhon Ratchasima for a total of 3.5 years back in the day... 69-72. Back then 300 baht was $15... I sure do miss that place. One of our normal runs was Udorn to Bangkok and then on down to Pattaya Beach. I was in my early 20's back then and oh what mischief we'd get up to.

Welcome to the group!!
