Hey Yall!

Purchased a 2009 over the weekend. Don't know much about the Versys yet but probably can add some value on other motorcycle topics as I have been riding for many years.

I currently ride a VFR 1200 all around the Arkansas twisties and am looking forward to riding the Versys on the many gravel/dirt roads that traverse the Ozarks.

Thanx in advance for sharing knowledge about the versys and if you ever make it to NWA, give me a shout. I am always looking for an excuse to ride.

Question

Hi Glory, I used to have a VFR800 from 1998 till I left GB in 2006, & in my opinion it was the best 'bike in-the-whole-World for me & my style of riding in my environment!!(twisties n some motorway/freeway)

Just a question though, well 2 actually;
1/ Who told you the Versys is an off-roader?
2/Which part of Arkansas do you live in/at?

Mick.

No one told me, but I did read several of the 'debates' regarding off road capabilities of the bike. I will simply be using the versys to travel 2 up for 50-100 miles of twisties and then ride the gravel/dirt roads in the area. I will not be doing single track or serious off road riding. I am simply going to spoon on some mt 60's and give it a go!

I live in Harrison which is on the north side of the Ozarks. Lots of twisties and remote off road areas.

I live in Branson, keep in touch & tell me (PM may be best!?!?!) when you're available for a blast around the twisties............Nothing too fast from me though anymore,I never did "get my knee down" even on the Viffer back in Blighty!

You DO know that the 'toothbrush' was invented in Arkansas?

ANYWHERE else and it would have been called a "teethbrush"....

Ah yes, the land where there aren't many branches on the family tree. Dang, did I say that out loud? Rather like Texas.
