ER6N - Diff between Ninja and Versys???

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has ridden the ER6N and how the fit compares to the Ninja / Versys. I got the impression that it was very close to the Ninja but without the fairing, but since Kawasaki doesn't make them anymore it's hard to find one for a comparison.

Thanks!

Before versys I had an ER6n (2009model) for 4 years (37000km).

Versys has better front (upside down fork) and rear suspension, its more comfortable.
The seat comfort is also better on versys, no problem for long trips etc.

The seat position is higher, wind protection is better, but the versys's engine has less power and torque than er6n...yes the difference is noticeable especially when overtaking.

Er6n is still on the market in EU with brand new model in 2012...
Ninja 650R is the same bike as ER6-f and ER6-n, the difference is only in name and fairing by Ninja and F model.

I had a 2009 ER6N for a couple years, the bike is the same as a Ninja minus fairing. I originally looked at some Ninja's but ruled them out because they are too sporty looking, I knew from riding supersports that I DIDN'T want a bike that looked faster than it was. The ER6N WAS fun to ride (specially when the whether was really nice), but the Versys does pretty much everything better. The only thing the ER did better was it had more top end charge, from around 8000 RPM and up, though the Versys has more low end power. As I understand it, the newer Ninja 650's have a power delivery closer to the Versys. If I were in the market and looking at 2009's I'd get the Versys, unless I found a similar condition ER9N for $1500 less.

Well, I sat on this model today at the bike shop and it is COMFORABLE!!!! With the two piece seat, rather than the Versys' 1 piece, what a difference ;D
They should really use this seat for the V, since most people complain about the stocker..... Also, I find the handlebars are bent backwards a bit, giving it quite a different feel to the bike as well. I like the Versys handlebar better.
Cheers,
BIGO

I met a guy at a coffee shop this past weekend, he was pulled up next to my bike with a brand new red ER6N. Nice bike, we admired each other bikes, compared similarities and differences....had a great chat for about 30 minutes. he was about 5'6" and I'm 6'1"....we both agreed that we had each made the right choice in bikes.

The 2013 red/black ER6N is a sharp looking machine, but my 2012 yellow/black Versys looked equally impressive next to it (especially naked without the screen).

Lovin every minute of it!

I wonder if the ER seat would fit on the Versys. I've noticed on previous bikes I've owned/ridden that a two piece is more comfortable.
