New to Versys

I loved this bike since I rode a demo 2011 model a year ago. I found a nice 2008 with 4K miles and I'm adding it to my garage. I'll pick her up tomorrow.

Any idea how long the tyres last on the V?

Congrats on your new bike. Great pick!

Are you asking specifically about the stock Dunlop tires? Seems to me that lots of them get replaced at around the 6,000 or so mile mark. I held onto mine for 7,500 miles. Could have gone a bit longer but I'd already plugged a hole in the rear.

I think EVERYONE who changes out their Versys' tires - no matter what they put on - seem to like their new tires better. I switched to Michelin PR3s.

Always trust your cape.

Bike still has the stock tires, I estimated 2K-3K miles more of thread life on them but I'm used to rubber eaters and this bike is a lot lighter and less powerful than my other bikes so rubber might last longer. I guess it lasts the same.

Stockers are good to 7k miles. After that its just pushing it. I did a pair of roadsmarts. It was an improvement over the originals. Again 7 to 8k miles was it. However, not for dirt and gravel roads. The last pair where pirelli scorpion synch. Same as the ones in the ducati ms. I liked them a lot. Good on pavement and decent on dirt and gravel. Cannot say much about longevity. I sold the bike with 3k miles on them. They looked they could do another 3k.
