HUD Helmet

I'm kinda new here, just outfitted my 2012 Versys with crashbars and luggage. I ran across this post of FB and wanted to know what everyone thought. It's about a Russian Company trying to produce a new Motorcycle helmet with a built in heads up display for Android based navigation apps. I kinda want to invest, but I'm not satisfied with the lack of guarantee on any return if it all falls through.

(Also didn't know where to post this forum-wise.)

Ahh, that's a tough one. What comes immediately to mind, especially with a foreign company, is investor beware. If you've a ton of $$$$ and don't mind risking some of it, it might not be too bad, but as you said, there are no guarantees. I personally would pass but then I tend to be rather conservative when it comes to my hard earned cash.

interesting idea.... 5 years ago...
I would like something like that, but..
it's too big, from the drawings, it will be huge! the projector is in the back, and it has to shoot the image above the head
1500$ ..auch!
it does the same thing as google glass (a lot less actually..)
I'm curious how they got 1 mil $ funding... in Russia.... but still they don't have a product ready

I would love an HUD in my helmet, and I hope we'll have one soon...

If you were to send me the money I could pay the taxes on my Nigerian lotto winnings and split it with you.

Personally I wouldn't touch an investment like that. I guess if you can accept ending up with $0 then give it a shot. We might all be asking for discounts on your new helmet next year.

Interesting idea, don't know how much it would distract me being in the centre of my vision. There seems to be a few presumptions, 'the helmet will be safety certified' (how can you same this unless it has been safety tested by those certifying the helmet), 'maps for all countries' (its hard enough getting Garmin to get my local maps correct let alone a small company like this, where are the maps coming from?).

I'll be sticking to my current helmet at the moment.
