Hello from Brisbane Australia

Hi there all.
Current ride is a 1992 Kawasaki Klr650 Tengai that I restored from a basket case.

Looking to upgrade and either a Versys or Vstrom is on the horizon.
Leaning towards the Versys because of its compact size and onroad behaviour.

Not a rough and tumble rider, more a grey nomad of the biker world.

Only ride one up. Just need to look at luggage/pannier options.
Currently have www.dirtracks.com racks on the Klr, with pelican style cases, suits me fine.

Hopefully upgrade in the next couple of weeks.

A few good buys on eBay over here in the land down under.

If your after a new one Kawasaki will give you $1000 to spend instore, which will get most of the branded panniers or will get you the top box and rack and some other stuff.

Why is that? I looked at both before I bought the Versys. Had no experience with either prior to purchase. I absolutely fell in love with the Versys although I still might have leaned more towards the Strom if I was going to do more touring though. Thanks.

Besides being "fugly", the Strom has quite a bit longer wheelbase, so NOT so nimble.

Roger that. Yeah I definitely preferred the styling of the V to the Strom. And at least 80% of my riding is in town commuting. Looks like I made the right choice!

Welcome!

I like the Versys much more than the Vstrom. My buddy has a Vstrom 650 and I can always see him drooling over my bike when we ride together....my bike is just so much sportier, responsive and fun to ride! The Vstrom is a great bike....it's really just personal preference I think.

Lovin every minute of it!
