Hi all! I am not yet a versys owner (currently ride a Buell 1125CR) but plan on selling my bike and buying a 2013 versys. I know its a big step down on power (146hp, 82tq to 50something hp and 40something tq) but I am looking for something more comfortable and versatile. I was origonally looking into a klr650 but got turned off due to complaints of oil usage and not as many higher mileage bikes as I would have thought. I have been researching the versys for a couple days now and so far am pleased and cant waot to ride one. If I have any questions so far they would be...
1) How many miles do you have on your Versys?
2) What issues are there woth these bikes? And are they major issues or costly?
I appreciate your help!

Welcome, got an 08 with 37,000km or around that on clock, major issues I have heard about are rectifier/regulator failure but thinks its pretty rare.

You'll spend more on it than you think because there's a good list of add-ons you'll find you will want

I am used to the tire issue lol I put 18,000 miles on my cr since june 2011 and went through about 4 sets of tires! So it looks like the only concern I would have is the voltage regulator possibly burning out. I am hoping to start serious shopping in about 2 months and will check out my local dealer (2miles from me).

Welcome! Where in NJ? I'm in central. I just purchased my Versys about a month ago. Haven't ridden a lot yet, but I've been busy adding stuff!

Montclair, NJ here.

I got my Versys after a few years between a VMax and an FZ1...you won't miss the top end that much considering how much you'll get back in everyday friendly.

First mod - Baldwin Seat! Luckily, my bike came with it done as it's a little spendy, but I'll never own another bike without one. I flew to Detroit one way to pick up my Versys and made the ride back through Canada in two days, my butt was soooooper comfy the whole way! You will not regret spending on one of these.

PM me if you are ever riding through.

You're about 40 mins west of me. I guess your local dealer is that Kawi/Yammi dealer on 202? I pass it on my way to work. I got mine from Rizzon's in Middlesex....great dealership, I've been dealing with them for over 20 years. Great group of folks.

Nearly 7000 km here and the only issues I have had was the OEM screen (replaced with Kawasaki / MRA Vario screen) and the vibration from the headlight surround.

Im getting closer and closer to a new bike! Just sold most of my aftermarket parts off the Buell, once they are all sold I am going to weigh the option to wait out longer to sell privately or just bite the $500-$1,000 bullet and trade her in at my local dealer. Or possibly find a dealer that wa my ts to just straight up buy it from me.

Well as of now I sold all but a couple small accessories and im about $3,000 away from a versys OTD if o trade my bike in for $3,900. I will be closer if I can sell it myself. So I figure I will have the money in about 3-5 months from today. Maybe I can get a deal on a 13 by then. Im pretty set on a white one (will be like my bike white plastics/black frame and red rear spring, maybe ill put a little Buell decal somewhere lol)
