Well hello there

My name's not really chuck, but since I manage to lay down every bike I own within the first couple weeks, I figured the name fits.

Anyhow, I'm riding a 2011 Versys 650 (currently a vibrant shade of Retina Burn Yellow) with a cracked fender. I'm new to the style, having come off a Harley Fat Boy. I figured there can't be a better place to go to learn about the differences in the road feel, mods to make, and how to handle a bike that doesn't set off car alarms when it cranks up.

Just watch turning sharp at slow speed or stopped. Change user name and don't lay her down.

And remember, "laying it down" is not a valid riding stategy!

Ride To Live, Live To Ride....no, really!

Well I am good friends with the owner of Lay It Down Customs. Taht could be my problem.

Nah, it's just a combination of exquisite timing and reflexes, and a habit of going a hair too fast while on gravel. Anyhow, thanks for the welcome. I've been drooling over the OD Green Versys thread. I'm figuring as long as I need to replace the front fender and get some scratches out, I might as well sketch up a "Flying Tiger" paint job and see what my paint guy says.

Crash bars, relocated pegs/controls, and a new pipe are on the list, and possibly some 80-20 tires. Anyhow, I'll make sure I post a couple pics of my poor wounded baby before the weekend. Planning a ride from Orlando to Lakeland if the weather holds!
