2012 650 from Seattle-ish

Hello! I joined back in February, but didn't actually bother reading the intro messages and didn't realize I was required to post in here 'til now. So.. hello!

My Versys is my very first bike, and still loving it (with the exception of the dang stator). I've been riding since passing the MSF in late 2018, have been learning and using it for pavement touring with some very rare side treks on short fire roads or unexpected 'pavement ends' areas.

And a picture of my current headache (pun intended), just because.

This is what brought me back to this site - I see a LOT of chat about stator and R/R issues, and am experiencing the same. I've already changed this crispy critter out, but I'm still getting below 13V at all RPMs when running, so I assume it's my R/R at this point. Have a cheapy on order, but now I hear about a series conversion that is supposed to help. I can't find the parent thread, though, as all the side links come up with 'permission denied' when I click on them?

Welcome from Brier, Snohomish County. Where exactly are you based? I've been looking for more V650 riders to explore the mountain roads with this summer.

Welcome, I just did the Triumph regulator on my 2008.Onewizard is the go-to guy, Just read his threads and you will see how its done. I live on the East side by the Tri-Cities if you need any help with it I can probably talk you thru it. Its a lot easier then it sounds.I do highly recommend going with the Triumph regulator and harness. How many miles on your bike?

I'm in north Kenmore, just a stone's throw from Brier. There's another Versys rider just next door to me as well!

I just turned 23k miles. Haven't done any purchasing for the regulator replacement yet, and my plan to do so has been sidetracked by an emergency mold mitigation -- gross discovery in the laundry room! I'll check out those threads. Thanks a bunch!

Sorry I meant to say Polaris Regulator and Triumph harness. Sorry about the mold, You need to move to the Dry Side.
