New member from Kochi, India

Happy to join here. I bought new Versys 650 Feb 2018. Done only 7000km so far. It is really good bike, bit high for my height though, I am only 5'9". Unfortunately dropped the bike few times already. All during stopping except one yesterday, slipped on slippery mud on off road. . Dropping while near 0 speed, I learned my mistakes and I am very careful on such situations. My mistake was using front brake for the final stopping. My tire is the stalk tire. What is the best tire tread for off-road. Please some experienced rider help me.

aboard and enjoy your ride - Be safe.

On the bike been tall and you dropping it a few time , better to get a lowering kit from https://motowerk.com/ for your safety taking in consideration the traffic in India.

On off road tire there many ,best get what is available in local market.

Thanks for your advice. I will look for a lowering kit. And definitely change to a better tire at replacement time.

aboard!

I suggest you "set your sag". I'm 5'9" and I can flat-foot my V650 once my weight (174" soaking-wet) settles the bike from a BIT HIGH.

(I also have footpeg lowering blocks which help a lot, but NOT the ability to flat-foot.)
