New from Vancouver

Hi everyone. This site has helped me make a decision to buy a Versys. Still in the market for my first bike, not a lot of these for sale here in Vancouver. Wanted something comfortable yet sporty, and accommodating to my height 6'5". Looks like this is the best choice out there. Looking forward to joining discussions once I find my Versys.

At 6'5" you might want to get Speedys footpeg lowering blocks, mirror extendors and also check out his highway peg mounts.....http://www.shop.motowerk.com/Versys_c2.htm

You will love working on your seat! I raised it to level it and put an Airhawk over the top! Oh I love this tall bike! Think you will too!

Welcome fellow BC'er. You will love the Versys... I am 6ft and it is one of the most comfortable bikes I've ever had. Except the seat...

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Other than craigslist/kijiji and of course the forums here, are there any other places to look for a used Versys in BC that you know of?

have you checked the dealers (Holeshot and Burnaby Kawi), they do get trade-ins and sell them at their shops.

Thanks fasteddie! Should there be any concern buying a Versys that has 41,000K on it? That bike has also been lowered, another negative for a 6'5 rider..too bad..looks ideal otherwise

I would think NOT, as long as it's been properly maintained. (My '08 has 41,000 miles; my '09 about 20,000 kms.) I figure they're good for OVER 100,000 miles!

As for the 'lowering' - you just remove the piece, re-adjust the forks IF they were raised, and VOILA - back to stock.
