I traded my 2016 Yamaha FZ6R for a new leftover 2017 Versys X 300 on Wednesday.
The X 300 has been sitting on the showroom floor for a long time because everyone wanted an ABS equipped X 300.
I've owned a 2012 Ninja 250 SE and a 2016 Ninja 300 ABS KRT so I already know what a great engine the X 300 has.
At the moment, I own a 2017 Harley Heritage Softail Classic and the new X 300.
I've only ridden 50 miles on the X 300 but I can already tell it's a keeper.
We're a one car family and motorcycles are my main form of transportation.
Saying "It's a keeper" is saying a lot for me as I tend to buy and sell/trade motorcycles frequently.
I really wish I'd have bought one of these X 300s years ago
Kawasaki KNOWS how to build a great motorcycle!

Welcome. I’m trying to convince my dealer to keep dropping the price on a leftover 2017 V300 X until I can afford it. Winter’s coming and he’s getting antsy, I can tell. 🙂

Here's a pic of my wife, Alyson, and our 2017 Heritage Softail Classic.
I just installed new WWW tires a few weeks ago and are they ever a PITA to keep clean.
It's a good thing my wife and I like the Heritage because Harley resale values are in the toilet!
She's pretty hot in this pic because It was over 95 degrees when it was taken.
However, when she rides pillion she wears boots, Kevlar jeans, jacket, gloves, and a FF helmet.
I think the stories I've told her about my reckless youth and my motorcycle crash ER visits have put the fear of god into her about road rash.

Well it is nice to see someone passing on some wisdom. I wear ATGATT no matter if I am going to the corner store ( most of my rides [90%] are 300 to 950 KM in a day, my shortest is usually 130 KM if riding with my son)

For me I get a little frustrated seeing people with shorts and sandals , half helmets and no gloves, especially female pillion riders. I would say that 80% of large displacement riders ( Goldwings, Harley , Yamaha ) fall into this category. If you have ever gone down in gravel or seen someone in the hospital after, you know what I mean, even a 20 KM/HR crash with no protection, expect skin grafts for a long time. So when it is 30'C out, I usually am sitting it out. Thanks for posting!!

I remember crashing my friend's Yamaha when I was in high school.
I had on running shoes, a jock, track shorts, and tank top. I was dresser to run track, not fly down the street on a motorcycle.

The pavement doesn't care if you crash a 125cc scooter, a 500cc dual sport, or 1000cc super sport ... it's an equal opportunity road rash provider.

Congrats and beautiful looking Heritage.

Did you get the one at Allsports, Inc in Decatur?

I test rode it back in March hoping to take it home, but chose the Himalayan over it after riding both.

That's my Road Glide in the background.

Yes. I bought the one at Allsport.
So YOU'RE the reason my brand new Versys had four miles on the odometer ... LOL!
I almost got a Himalayan, the one Steve had painted red, but I was a little more comfortable on the Versys
Thanks for the complement on the Heritage.
After I installed the WWW tires I decided to take the saddle bags off.
That's a nice Road Glide!
If I were in the market for a non Softail Harley that's what I'd get. I like the frame mounted fairing on the Road Glide vs the Fork mounted one on the Street Glide.
