I have a 2015 V-650 and love it. It is a fantastic bike. The 1000 Versys is also a fantastic bike.

You first need to define your mission.

If you ride mostly solo then either bike will work. If you ride mostly 2 up I would go with the 1000.

Long distance with lots of gear I would again go with the 1000. That being said there are many guys with the 650 that do long distance and carry lots of gear and it works just fine.

Looking for arm stretching acceleration? The 1000 is the bike to get.

Like the sound of an inline 4? The 1000 is the one for that.

Both bikes have excellent handling characteristics, but if you want quick, light, flickable handling the 650 gets the nod.

Want super gas mileage? The 650 is the ticket. I regularly get 55 mpg with mine. Riding easy at higher altitudes I have seen north of 60 mpg.

Good luck with your decision.

2015 V-650 of course it's green...it's a Kazawalski.
