Hello of Pittsburgh(ish)

Hey everyone. I’m Dave from about an hour outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I don’t actually own a Versys, but have a Ninja 400 currently. I stopped by here to read and share some info since there are some pretty significant similarities in the electronics and ecu of these bikes. That being said, the more I read and look at a Versys, the more I am considering picking one up. So, we’ll see what happens!

Thanks! I’ve already found the one thread about the gearing/code 25 invaluable, despite having different bikes.

Check out many Versys 650 reviews on youtube. It has long been the favourite/goto "reasonably priced all-rounder" of most motorcycle magazines. Also, it can be a great used bike too.

With any adventure bike also consider adding crash/engine bars for tip-over and minor crash protection (they'll pay for themselves in prevented damage), a rear pit stand and spools if there is no kickstand, aftermarket (much, much cheaper than OEM, eg. Oxford) heated grips if you ride in the spring and fall and either lockable side bags or a rear top box for commuting carrying ability.

Welcome Dave. I live in Maine now but grew up mostly in the Pittsburgh area. My dad still lives right near the Pittsburgh airport, and I rode my Versys there to visit him last week. I just got back to Maine a couple days ago. The Versys is a rock solid bike for long trips, commuting, and everything in between.

stand up tall, pretend youíre strong, in the hope that you can be
