I'm stepsquash in Rice Co., MN. I am entering retirement, so I will have time for forums. I ride a 2008 Versys 650 with 12000 miles. I think it's geared up cuz it gains speed at an idle. I rode 1000 mi. to the Badlands & back & my butt was sore, and my head was sore from my Fleet Farm helmet. When I got my bike a couple years ago, I tipped at a stop sign. The bike is taller than ideal for me, but I am slowly improving. My "bikes" in order of purchase: 1960 metric Vespa 125, a 1967 Sears Puch, a gangly 60 cc trail bike. a 1959 Indian Enfield Police Chief 700, a 1939 Indian 30-50, 1975 RD 350, which was my touring bike. a 1978 Yamaha XS 500, and a 1982 gl1100 naked Goldwing. I might still be riding the Wing but some kids poured water in the gas tank. The Versys has got me addicted to acceleration. It hit 115, according to the speedo, on an up hill grade in the Badlands. I had to tell myself "my motorcycle does not want to kill me"
