My Versys 110000km in 6 years

Love this bike, first time she has let me down in 6 years, 110000km

Seems like the sprocket shaft came lose or something, mechanic will look at it next week

You chain look bone dry and maybe the cause of the failure for the front sprocket assembly.
Please keep posted if time permits.

Chain was lubed before I left for the 250km trip, I rode 10km on a dusty sand road

Looks to me like your "speed sensor" came lose and tried to "join" the sprocket nut.

I TOO had a green '09



until I had a "low-side" crash about 60 miles S of Inuvik, NWT



after getting blinded by dust from a semi in a left-hand 90 degree turn.



Did some temp repairs in my campsite







then rode it back (over three days...)



to Kelowna, where I surveyed the damage



and it was "written-off" by my insurance, at 62,739 kms, so I replaced it w/ a new '15 V650LT. Here, coming back from Alaska in '16.

The gearbox is done, drive shafr came out of gearbox and ate speed sensor
