Hello All!

Hey everyone,

I searched out your forum because I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a "new to me" 09 Versys, but wanted to find out all the dirt on them to make an informed decision. I'm currently riding an 06 1200 Sportster Custom, but I'm wanting to take longer adventures and the Sporty just ain't the tool for the job. I'm planning on trading it in on the V. Anyway, thanks for all the infor and I look forward to becoming part of the Versys community.

Sporty or Long Tour. The Versys will do the trick.

That's whats drawing me to it, fun to ride around town and to work, but still capable of loading up and heading out of town. I'm also in the military so I move frequently and encounter a lot of different riding conditions.

Welcome it is a funvee, I live just 10 km away from my local town so can use it to go into town and do errands and put stuff in top box, not long finished a week of riding with all three bins on and done just over 4000km on stock seat but did cheat my using my airhawk but if i was just doing a day or a overnighter do not bother with airhawk as stock seat is fine by me to ride 600km in a day, also have had it on half a doz track days and that is my favourite time on V when you pass guys on super sports bikes on the outside of a hairpin on the little 650 twin.

I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, I have to get the Harley ready for trade in. I'm going to take off most of the add-ons from the Harley and post them on ebay so I can build up the farkle fund for the V. I'm curious to compare the the experience of this 650 to the 1200 sportster. I started out on a Suzuki Savage 650 thumper and always enjoyed it. The one I'm looking at is the 09 Blue with the factory color matched hard boxes. While I have your ears, they are asking $5100 it's spotless and has 1500 miles on it. Does this sound reasonable?
