two small buttons near windshield with one above cigarette lighter

These buttons can be depressed but once depressed they remain recessed. Since the one on the left side is close to the cigarette lighter I assumed it was related in some way. Does not appear to be. I can't find mention of these in the manual. The cigarette lighter or GPS socket doesn't appear to be active in any case.

Thanks

A picture would help.

Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism; complete with witch hunts funny outfits and humorless preachers thundering doom. The Deity is Safety; Satan is a Lawyer; but the object is the same: to suck the life out of life and tell you how to live it.

Just guessing but I think they are push pins to secure the cowling.....they should easily pop up and then you can remove the entire pin.

Welcome From Canada

https://www.kawasakiversys.com/forum...ber-intro.html please read

look in your owners manual , under the section of plastic removal, they are push pins, instead of screws ( round about 3/8 inch in diameter and black with a pin in the middle). To remove use a small slot screwdriver, push the center in slightly, you can then extract the whole pin using your finger nails or slot screwdriver , to install you push the pin in the center up, once the whole push pin has bin inserted in the cowling you push the center pin flush. It acts the same as a pop rivet except this is re-usable.
