New to me 2015 Versys 650 LT

Just got out of storage a 2015 Versys 650 with about 6,000km on it.

Going to try and install my zumo to the 12V under the cockpit, and Givi Airflow. Just waiting for the rain this weekend to stop!

Been reading about thermobobs and ECU flashes, but don't really *need* those do I?

Welcome aboard, Chunner!

Yes, you definitely need the ECU flash! 100%.

No, you don't need the thermobob. Your 2015 already has a thermostat in the cooling system, per the service manual.

My opinion: the 'reflash' is a VG thing that you CAN live w/out, altho' nice to have; but the Thermobob makes your engine warm-up and operate in the CORRECT temp-zone, so, for me - it's a "horse of a different color", and pretty much a necessity.

BTW - I've installed FOUR, including probably the first in a Versys - my '08 - as well as in my '09, and 'worked-up' the prototype for the Gen 3 in my '15, for Bill Watson.

This AFTER I was converted, when I installed one into my '04 KLR650.
