New to the Versys

Hey all, I just purchased a 2017 Versys 650 after years of owning a Ninja 650R. I would be interested to hear what are some of the "necessities" as far as mods go right off the bat. I got the LT version so it has the two side bags and it came with a Givi monolock mount. I did purchase the PUIG touring windscreen and I am debating on with top case to get. Any ideas or recommendations would be appreciated!

Custom seat went a long way for me to reduce the sliding forward issue. Also added bar extenders but suggest you put a few miles on your bike so you can decide for yourself.

I purchased a 2016 Versys 650 LT about 6 months ago. The Puig windscreen makes a huge difference. I also added the Oxford heated grips, which are great on the cooler days. I just purchased the Givi V47 topcase with the M7 mounting bracket. I wanted to be able to use the one key, so I hesitated on the Givi and had considered the OEM by kawasaki. But, I learned that they are the exact same topcase. So, I bought the One-Key system, keyed it to my key so I can continue to access everything with one key. I'll be adding the ADMORE LED lighting kit next. The last thing I'd like to purchase is the Sargent seat. Good luck and enjoy!

If you really want a good seat, forget the Sargent and get one of Terry Adcock's. Much better and cheaper.

aboard!

You can make the bike MORE comfortable by eliminating the "forward-slide", w/ a scrap piece of steel w/ two holes in it, 12 = 1/4" washers, and two 6mm x 45mm bolts. The mods go on the piece that holds the front of your seat. Mine's up about 9/16", and has worked for about 165,000 miles among THREE V650s.
