Honda NC700X Trade For 2011 Kawasaki Versy

Hi, my name is Bob and I am very interested in purchasing a left over 2011 Red Versys 650 from my local dealer. It is listed for $5,790 vs the 2012 $6,988 and 2013 listed for $7,999. Is there any difference between the models besides color and resale value? I am riding a 2012 Honda NC700X with 600 miles. I would break about even if I traded for the 2011. Thank you and ANY comments would be greatly appreciated. AKA Seabee Bob

They are exactly the same except for color. 2010 was the year they made the first changes.

Interesting. Out of curiosity, what don't you like about the NC700X that moves you towards a new Versys? This is the first trade I've seen going in this direction, after some previous interest noted by V owners in the NC700X. (That V's a good deal.)

Someday is not a day of the week.

I do not like the short shift of the NCX because of the 6500 rev limiter and I can't stand the BEAK on the front end. I do like the storage compartment of the X though. Yes, the V's is a good deal at $5,790. I am going in today 1/17/13 for test ride and a possible trade. If The Price Is Right!

Bob. I tested the Honda last spring... I would NOT trade my V for one.

Good luck with your decision, Bob. I keep looking at other bikes and haven't found a compelling reason to replace my 2008 Versys. (Of course I'm off to the NYC moto show this weekend, so who knows what could happen!)

I'd sure like the storage in the Honda, but the Versys motor is a better way to utilize that space.

I would sacrifice the storage compartment for the lack of engine from the NCX. I had the whole Thanksgiving Dinner in there and I still had room for more.

That's great! Could Honda possibly have had that in mind when they sized the "tank" storage?

Wish I could find a place with left over, cheaper models with the new body style. Right now, I am trying to find an older used model with the best mods for a decent price.

I have also been at the Honda dealer looking at the X, thinking I might want to buy that one, but I am very concerned about the rev limiter. And here, you cant test drive, so I would already be committed to it before I got to try it out.

If I could find a '10 V for less than 6K, I would be all over that

The V has got to be a lot easier to fuel once you have a big waterproof duffel strapped securely across the pillion on a long cross country trip...
