flinthillsbiker,

I am also a graduate of Cushman University.

I started around 1962 on a Cushman Super Eagle...what a great little machine...it was fire-engine red, and I put a dual exhaust pipe on it and went everywhere...loved the shifter...hard not to keep riding after an introduction to motorbikes like that!

Welcome from Liberal, KS. I also started on Cusman Eagle in 1959 I think. I traded my KLR for a 2008 blue versys. For my riding it is great. Enjoy.

Mike. Seems there are a few of us who started riding in the 60s aboard the venerable Cushman Super Eagle.

May the years and times ahead be kind on your soul and may God be by your side always.

Now go and enjoy your rides.

from Seattle. I started in the mid 60's also, but on a Lambretta 175. I think you will find the Versys a nice ride and a good bike to catch up on the good times of the road as Crow suggests.

thanks

thanks to everyone for the welcomes. I tried to log on yesterday, but was using
the user id, duh!
I do not remember what year my cushman was, but I do remember it was black with dual exhaust and had leather saddlebags and a windshield. I made a custom plastic shifter knob for it in jr. high shop class.
I remember one of the first times i rode it, i was only allowed to ride it up and down the gravel alley behind the house. My dad's friend had his new white honda 300 dream parked in our driveway. I came in off the alley to fast and slid into his new bike and my handlebar broke his windshield. oh the shame! Pop turned it on to the insurance and claimed he backed our 59 chevy into it and
the rear fin hit the windshield and broke it.
I do not currently own a versys.
There are several used ones for sale in my area, 2008 and 2009.
I know kawasaki made a lot of changes to the bike with the 2010 model year.
has anyone riddin the old and new models?
are the updates worth buying a 2010 or later model?
thanks
Mike

aboard!

I'd never heard of or seen the Cushman until you guys all just mentioned it. What a cool, weird looking bike. I can totally see myself on one of those.

Yeah: we made it out of the '60s, but the Cushman did not. Now they are collector's items and the fond memories of the high-mileage set.
