Hi from Washington state

Hi guys bought a 2014 green kawi versys around May this year the previous owner had put shad side bags on the bike but I recently picked up a Givi V46 top box and am looking for options to add a tail rack so I can mount a plate to put the box on. I was looking at the Givi top box rack but not sure if its possible to mount it with the shad side racks also has anyone had the same set up and made it work with shad hard bags and a Givi top box set up ? Thanks for any help you can offer

I have a Givi top case with the OEM side cases. Everything works together. As for having the Shad side cases with a Givi top case...I had the same concern. Looking at the mounting directions it looks as though the Shad 3P mounting brackets will get in the way of the Givi mounting bar that comes under the rear seat.

If you REALLY want to go this route I'd buy your Givi mount from Amazon or some place that has a good return policy. Try it and if it doesn't work out than you can always return (or post it For Sale on the forum).

The OEM carrier may work better with your Shad side case mounts, although they're more expensive.

You could always call Givi and/or Shad and see what they say!

Ok so I ordered the Givi 451FZ on amazon and it worked out with the shad side racks. I had to swap out the factory hand hold for the Givi ones and swap over the plastic covers on them and get longer bolts for the shared contact point on the bike the bolts that were in there where 8m x1.25 and 2” long witch I think equates to 50mm long. I just needed another half inch witch I think made them 8mx1.25 x60mm witch you won’t find at Lowe’s or home depo at least not near my place I was able to get them at McClendon hardware around my area they seem to carry a lot more specialized stuff or maybe a specialty fastener store anyway I’m happy with the way it turned out and will try and attach some pics

This is good to know! I'm sure more people than myself have run this through their minds. Now we know!

And thanks for posting this with the additional bolts and their sizes.
