Cool New 300 Owner

Hi all,

I just got a leftover 2017 Versys x 300 ABS. My first street bike and I'm loving it. I am in Lancaster Co., Nebraska and would love to ride up to the Black Hills this fall but I feel like the engine break-in rpm limit and the upcoming service at 400 mi. put a hamper in that until next spring. If anyone is in this neck of the woods and can recommend any good country roads, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Welcome From Canada

https://www.kawasakiversys.com/forum...ber-intro.html As to break in RPM, I and many others have commented on this. My 2015 650 Versys hit close to 9000 RPM ( 10 seconds, several times over a 3 hour period)with less than 100 KM on it, I was told by the head mechanic ( training by Kawasaki)of my dealer to not baby it and also to change up the RPM frequently, in other words don't sit at 4000 RPM for 15 to 30 minutes at a time. I was also told that the engine could be using full synthetic right from the start. I will further comments by other members to chime in here.

Here is HOW I (and many others) "broke-in" our Versys: (on the ride home from the dealer = LESS than 50 miles!, then changed the oil and filter)
