Hello

Looking forward to gaining all your wisdom on versys. Y wife has 2008 650, last year traded my FJR for 2016 Versys 650 LTE. Re gear and lowered wife's 2008 and has run Great. Till today, think Battery is the issue. Was dead, charged for few hours, all I got was flashing display. Have to find manual to diagnose. Will swap my battery tomorrow.

Stay tune

I replaced an old Concours with a '15 650. I'm not looking back though that bike served well for 234k miles. I received word from the gentleman that bought it from me that it now has a quarter million miles on it. Surehope the 650 can go like that.

As an after thought, the Connie never left me stranded in all those miles. Pretty good service.

Welcome From Canada

Best to charge outside of bike, then get it load tested, replace with Yuasa original, my 07 battery lasted 6 years, once it starts going it should be replaced because it will be a extra load on the charging system and also overheat, to the point that all electrolyte is gone , which is what yours sounds like.

Welcome from San Antonio, Texas. I suspect it's time to replace the battery and press on with riding while the weather holds.
