Cool New rider with a new Versys X 300 ABS

Hello forum!

The name is Noah, I'm living in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
I just bought my Versys on Saturday, and had to make the maiden journey home 110km. I took a motorcycle skills course, but was still really nervous about a new bike, on unfamiliar roads. I avoided the highway and took roads through the country to get back into the city from the dealer.

Thought I would join this forum if I needed any advice on owning my first bike, and to check out how other people have set up their Versys'.
Just did my first group ride this Sunday, which was a blast, though it was primarily harleys and sportbikes, only one other rider on a KLR650 that had similar tastes in, go anywhere, do anything on a motorcycle.

If there are any particular threads you recommend, feel free to point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

A few things:
I ordered the Kawasaki engine guards and center stand. I think there are some youtube videos about installing them.
Riding it home and in the group ride, I noticed the seat is extremely painful to me. Most reviews said it was uncomfortable, but it's downright painful.
I ordered a seat concepts foam+cover, which, depending on if it arrives before the Kawi parts, will be my first real "mod".
Other suggestions I heard are 15 tooth sprocket, skid plate, some kind of luggage.
I would eventually like to ease into off roading, so maybe a radiator guard, knobbies and raising the front fender.

I chose this bike as it fit my criteria:
Easy to handle as a beginner with a short inseam.
Can do Canadian highway speeds.
Can get me into adv riding and learning to travel offroad.

As mentioned, feel free to provide any other suggestions.

I would suggest that "Group rides" are NOT a good idea for you, as a new rider. If (when) someone does something unsafe you MIGHT not have the riding-background to recognize the dangers, thus getting 'caught-up' in it. When someone goes 'down' in a group, very OFTEN they 'take-out' other bikes.

LEARN your bike, and it's idiosyncrasies FIRST. Ride safe (ATGATT!).
