Hello world

I own a nice red 2008 Kawasaki Versys 650 with just a few upgrades that include custom made windshield. OEM tank and pillion bags, hand protectors, and this is it I guess.

I do really enjoy the bike. I like it for its versatility, suspension travel, sitting position, however sometimes I feel like I am sliding down to the gas tank, and it gets annoying on a long trips.

Once I bought it I changed brake fluid, oil, replaced tires for Michelin Road 3. I also installed RAM cellphone mount and connected battery tender USB outlet. I try to do most of maintenance stuff by myself.

Now I am in process of getting a top case for which I am looking for a luggage rack (I got everything together from Ebay but it appeared that the rack was for a 10-14 gen Versys 650, so I returned it but kept the case which was OEM Kawasaki, mounting plate, and passenger backrest pad).
Hope to find a rack that would fit my bike.

Besides riding my Kawa I also enjoy mountain skiing, mountain biking (casual rider).
Thanks for reading this and have a wonderful day.

the wonderful Rawkstar320 was gracious enough to design a 3D printer file for a riser block that does a great job of fixing the forward seat slope.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1775953

Check your local library for 3D printing services. I was able to email the file to my local library and pickup the part 3 days later for the outrageously expensive amount of $1.30 CDN.

Also, Welcome!

You can also make your own piece to raise the front of your seat. A piece of scrap steel w/ two holes in it, 2 = 6mm x 45 bolts, 12 = 1/4" washers.

Raises the front on MINE by 9/16".

Thank you for this suggestion as well, Iíll try to do an elegant 3D printed piece first and if it wonít go well I will go old school

Welcome aboard. My wife and her brother should be passing through your area tomorrow on their way to Oshkosh for the EAA Fly-In. They both asked if I wanted to go with them, but I said no thanks. Why? Thousands and thousands and thousands of people - I don't do crowds well at all. I'll just stay home and ride.

see if a SW-motech rack would be compatible with the mounting plate. i have this very sturdy rack on my 2008, but in my case, i have a givi top case instead of oem.

Thanks! I've heard that the OEM case is also manufactured by GIVI and on my mounting plate is says "monolock system"

I am aware of SW-motech racks they are a bit costly though....
