Hello from New England, USA 2009 Versys

So I am not sure if this is the BBthread forums I used to be a member of or not since I haven't posted anything motorcycle related in a couple years or so. Looks different. But hello considering this will be a new account.

I joined this/a forum back in 2010 as I was a newbie and had just purchased my 2009 Kawasaki Versys and had a lot of questions about gear, riding and mods.

Now in my 8th year or riding, mostly with the wife on the back (she hasn't fallen off yet), my motorcycle boots are slippery as hell. Wondering if there is some technique to get them sticky again? Sand paper? A spray of some kind? Any ideas?

Thank you much all,

GR

aboard!

Get some 'toothed' foot pegs (I use DR650 ones).

Not sure of my old username, but will search some thread posts to see if I can find some old threads started around tank bags, windscreens, etc.

Cycle shop recommended trying hairspray or calling a cobbler to see what they'd suggest or just buying some new boots. Tread doesn't look worn out, just feels like a fine dust on them that water doesn't help remove or get tacky again.
Don't think I'd want to invest in foot pegs. But thanks!

I replaced my old boots when I almost dropped my bike because of them being slick on a rainy day. For me, the rubber had just gotten hard over time. Not sure if it is the same for you or not -- I'd just fix or replace them before having to support the bike on a wet surface.

Probably so, they probably just hardened up. Better safe than sorry. Usually two of us on the ride.
