hey yall, new member

Just started lurking here recently as I've been interested in this bike for a little while as a commuter and light fun bike for local rides. I found a leftover 2011 that was priced to move so I jumped on it yesterday. The bike looked very lonely flanked by a couple new NC700's and V-Stroms on either side but now she has a new home.

My other bikes are a Suzuki Bandit 1250 and a Honda XR650L.

Thanks, this is a great place and I was glad to find a forum dedicated to the Versys.

And yeah the Bandit is definitely my ride when I have some miles to do. Great throttle response with gobs of instant torque delivery from idle on up near redline...more like a torque plateau than a curve. And it's unbelievably smooth and understressed when "making good time", brilliant motor.

The XRL is fun for local road rides and the woods but a total pig in the sand, and unfortunatley the southern NJ woods have lots of sand. It's taken plenty of soft dirt naps out there, more than I would like to admit. It's actually quite fun to dart around on local roads with it but that old thumper is nowhere near as purposeful a street ride as the V will be.

I expect both bikes will be a bit jealous in the near future while I'm on honeymoon with the Versys.
