New member from Oregon

Hi all, I'm a 45 year old rider been riding on the street for about 27 years. My current bike is a '08 Kawasaki Vulcan 900, which I bought in hopes the wife would like to ride on it with me. She doesn't, the seat is too wide and painful for her. Anyway, my last bike was an '09 ER6N, which I liked a lot. So now I am looking for basically the same thing, with a little more versatility, Versys. I'd love to find a used one (near me) that has some of he things I'm sure I'll end up getting, engine guards, hard saddlebags, taller shield, heated grips etc, but not really finding anything like that around here. So I'm kinda looking at a new '11 for $6499 (OTD would be around $7200).

Anyway, that's my story and look forward to learning more about the Versys.

With 27 years under your belt there's nothing a newbie like me could tell you about the Versys - other than I'm in love with mine. A great bike if your long in the leg, or as an entry level bike - or in my case both!

Thanks guys. I'm still looking. Not sure if I can bring myself to buy a new bike, with the "off the showroom floor" depriciation I'm likely to incur.

CList Portland has one listed for $6000 private owner http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/mcy/3305751836.html
There were others listed by dealers that were older. Good luck with your search. Frog
