Hi from British Columbia

Hi Folks

Newbie rider here......been wanting to ride for a long time and decided that this was going to be the year it happens. Took a Motorcycle course locally with a buddy, great fun.

Picked up a 2009 Versys in late July and have fallen in love with it. The cosmetics are an acquired taste but I found that it totally grew on me after the initial bouts of dry heaving when I saw it for the first time. I've got a grey one and it gets me no attention......which is PERFECT for me. Got the grip guards, bigger aftermarket visor for freeway riding, the rest is bone stock. I find it to be a great bike to learn on and have so far enjoyed my jaunts in the Fraser Valley.

I have my road test booked in the next couple of weeks....hopefully I can get that out of the way before the motorcycle season ends this year.

Cheers.

Seems like we're on a similar trajectory. I've been asked whether it was really a good idea to get my Versys on the road so late in the season. I wanted to log some hours of practical road time before the start of next season.

Best of luck on the road test!

Welcome from Port Coquitlam! I agree about the style of the bike... it definitely looks better after you ride it. Now I think it looks great!

Welcome, Lava. I'm sure you will enjoy your V the more you ride it. You have some beautiful country to ride in. We just completed a ride from WA up through Van, Whistler, Cawson, and on over to Rossland, back roads as much as possible. As you said the weather has been great this year. Frog

Republic of Panama, the grey and blue denoting the various provinces. I rode bikes in about 7 of the provinces when I lived there, before I moved back to the US.
