New Versys!

Hi, I am a new member, I am picking up my new Versys tomorrow, well its the 2011 model, but still brand new and I got a good deal on it. I have been riding a Ninja 250 for the last six years and put over 25,000 miles on that bike. The 250 was a great value, and I am hoping the Versys is as well. I ride year around so I wanted something that would fair well in most weather condtions and would be a true road warrior when fighting D.C. Metro area traffic. The Versys strikes me as a bike that was made for commuting and dealing with traffic. I though about getting more of a sports bike, but I figure that there is no real benefit in being able to go 220 in a 55 mph limit. or being all hunched over stuck in gridlock. Also I needed good gas milage to justify it with the wife, so all that came together and looked like a Versys to me!

Welcome! My story is the same as yours- a new 2011 recently acquired. I just got to break-in mileage last week so yesterday was my first super slab ride. I think you will find that this machine is as planted on a highway as it is in the twisties. Enjoy

Thanks everyone for your responses!

So far so good, I have about 200 miles on it now. I have a couple of questions that I will post to the other forums thanks!

Congrats on the new bike! I ride to work on my versys occasionally, but there are so many cager morons in DC that I regularly walk/metro. Then again, walking isn't 100% safe here.
