Well - here in the north end of europe, it could seem silly to buy a bike - but we do have a riding season fro March 1. to November 30.
Or as much of it as winther allows - this not only comprises real snow, but also our lovely municipal service, who visely decides to send out an army of salt trucks whenever the whetherman even hints anything like night frost.....
Else, our climate is much like described by Hiccup in the start of "How to train your dragon" - nothing to brag about.
The Island Zealand, I live on, contains our capitol - Copenhagen. Perhaps not the largest capitol - but it's our largest city at least ;o)
Access to sustained stretches of gravel roads and other interesting stuff demands a trip to either (to some extend) Jutland (our largest piece of land - attatched to the northern end of Germany) or to our neigbours in Sweeden. Shortest trip from here is to Sweeden - can actually see Sweeden from most of the cost at Copenhagen.
So why buy another bike ? 'cause beeing in my 20th riding season - I'm still not fed up with it !
Having had a few bikes over time, I bought a BMW F650ST a few years back, thinking it was a great adventure bike.....well - yes and no.
Yes 'cause it was a nice bike to ride in many ways - had a solid pull etc, but the "no" side was among others that this nice pull wasn't much use in city traffic at lower speeds and weight was another limiting factor in town.
So I swithced to a KLX250S (EFI model over here) - what a joy !
Though engine size was limited, it still recorded a max speed of 128 KpH on my GPS...on flat ground, of corse ;o)
After 5 years - it got stolen, and finding another was impossible - seems a very few was ever sold here, so I opted for a 250 Ninja....another mistake
Again a nice bike in some ways - just not in town - felt somewhat like a pit bike for my 6'
Then this summer - I finally saw that the Versys X had come to town - man was I sold !
After a coupple of months and about 1.500 Km - I know that for me, this one beats the KLX !
