G'day from Perth, Western Australia

I'm new to this website having purchased a Versys 650 ABS in February (new). I have yet to see another Versys on the streets of Perth!

I really love the bike apart from poor FI performance between 4000 and 5000 RPM.

I've put 5000 km on it already but no really long rides yet.

Any suggestions from people in this region on where to purchase bits for the Versys? I'd like to make the following modifications:

1) taller screen

2) radiator protector

3) rear hugger

4) oggy knobs

Welcome to the forum. I know what you mean about not seeing too many if any other Versyses but myself I like having something different.
Enjoy!!

I haven't the mods on your list but I bought my sw-motech crash bars from Motorrad Garage in WA. My Givi Luggage rack and top case was cheaper straight from Italy.

Hi Toughguy, welcome from Newcastle, NSW.

I put on the aftermarket screen with the little adjustable blade in place of the original. It wasn't worth the money - $150 as I recall, or perhaps $250. Obviously the spend trauma has worn off.

I then took off the blade and drilled the original screen and put that in its place. It's somewhat better. I've since thought that putting it on upside down might give better protection. Pic here http://s1034.photobucket.com/albums/...HMR2012-16.jpg

I've also made my own radiator protector from some expanded mesh from AutoOne. Plastic door strips are fitted around the perimeter, although the side edges are inside the radiator shroud. Pics are here http://s1034.photobucket.com/albums/...iator%20Guard/

I travel to Perth frequently, and have never seen a Versys around the city.

As a matter of fact, I will be there the second half of July for a few days. I'll keep on the lookout for your bike ( I'll be in west perth, near the parliament buildings).

I actually saw another Versys in town on the same day that I brought my bike home, but then rarely afterward. Then I noticed that another red Versys was routinely parking where I work (as a hint - it is related to the development of nuclear weapons). That must have been the other Versys that I saw.

Since then, I have only very rarely seen other Versys on the streets (I saw a couple on the streets of Albuquerque when I worked there) and I do not even live near one of the most remote cities in the world...

It seems that the mighty Versys is popular in Malaysia! So where do you buy all your aftermarket bits?
