Introduction from NC

Hi folks! Nice to join in on the fun here. Been trying to post for a while, instead of just lurk, and finally found the secret: this section.

So, I have an '08 versys, red. It came with a loud pipe that I'm swapping to stock, and I've put about 6k miles on it since I've owned it. I ride it back and forth to work every day (~20 miles each way) whenever I don't have to drive the truck for some other reason. Thankfully, we don't get much snow, and rain usually comes in the afternoon, so weather usually doesn't stop me. As long as it's not raining on the way to work, I'm good. I can't seem to seal out EVERY leak, and it's damn annoying to sit at work wet all day.

Anyways, I'm enjoying the bike.

Oh, forgot to mention we also take the bike to the mountains several times a year to enjoy the twisties. Been to the tail of the dragon a few times, but got so frustrated at the packs of roaming harleys (who don't watch their mirrors) that I pretty much stopped. Then I discovered the devil's staircase and surrounding area. Mooohahahah.

Wow Murphy to Manteo!!
I'm orginally from Asheville and wish I was back there riding in the cooler climate. Do you ever take your versys out on the dunes/banks in order to Camp and to re-create the Wright Bros.

Welcome, Matt...always a great thing to find another North Carolinian on a Versys! Dawggone, I bet there's a good dozen of us on here now.

Anytime you wanna trek to the mountains I can be there most any weekend. Trying to make Jackson county my new home at the end of the year. I'm plain homesick!

Maybe we could plan up a western NC gathering sometime. That would be sweet!
