Greetings from Minneapolis

I'm picking up my 2009 green Versys from the dealer in two days. It's going to be 70 degrees in Minneapolis that day. In March. Like a fool, I already mentioned the new bike to a co-worker, so no calling in sick for me.

I'm coming from an '04 Concours that a Twins fan in a minivan totaled for me. I wanted something lighter and more maneuverable, with an upright seating posture and better gas mileage. Came across a good deal on a used Versys that fit me really well when I sat on it, and here I am!

The Versys is great for riding in a city like MPLS. Enjoy.

Like your area but would never go there in the winter. Use to go to South St.Paul for some martial art seminars..

This winter was a joke. Some of my friends went for a ride Christmas weekend, and I would have been with them if I'd had a working bike at the time. Not because we're all viking badasses who can't feel cold; it was just that warm.

Now watch, I've jinxed myself and it's going to go from 70 to snowing within a week.

Tell me about it. I retire my machine for the winter more or less around Halloween, and ended up cheating myself out of nearly two months of riding this year.

Same thing happened to me, I put my old bike in storage after halloween and could have ridden it through December. Gotta love the midwest. I'm in Madison right now and even though it's 70 today, we have to remember it could easily snow anytime through April!

Welcome, I've had mine for a little over of year now and love it. If fact, I rode it today to work for the first time this year. Welcome again, from Shakopee, MN.

Back on two wheels! Rode around a bit, then installed my top-case and V-Stream windscreen, then rode around some more in the dark...

It's too early to say for sure, but I appear to have solved the dreaded Versys Buzz within 30 hours of driving off the lot, thanks to advice I found in this forum. Thanks everyone!
