another happy Versys owner

Hi all, I just picked up a slightly used, 1000 miles, 2009 green Versys yesterday. It was bought new last summer so it still has some warranty remaining. I put 50 miles on it today and I'm impressed. Ive owned a lot of bikes over the years and this one is a favorite already. I'm really impressed how well the windshield keeps the wind off my chest. I'm 5'11" and it barely hits my helmet. The seat was pretty nice too.

Great forum with lots of advice. Looking forward to doing some mods.

Mike

I am 5' 8" and am extremely pleased with the void I ride in. The windshield keeps all the wind off of me. I used to ride a cruiser and even with a huge windshield, it beat me up.. Go figure!

Welcome.

Mine had 1500 miles and 20 warranty days left. It's cool when you can pick up a bike that has just been broken in, that is if it was done right.

I'm also 5/11 and the stock shield is great for me, too.

Thanks everyone. Three weeks and 900 miles later im still loving this bike. Down shifting is a bit notchy and my tailbone is numb after an hour but still a fun little bike.

On a side note, can anyone tell me why this is the only thread I can reply to?

Welcome to the site. Same height and really like the VStream windshield. There are windshield reviews for this bike on www.webbikeworld.com

SW-Motech engine bars are a nice add on for this bike and if you ever plan on dropping the bike on it's side will immediately pay for themselves.

You have to post twice in the introduction section the. Wait 48 before you can post in the other sections.

from greater San Antonio, in the People's Republic of Texas.

Funny, I'm 5' 10" and the MRA Vario windshield that was on the bike when I bought it is barely acceptable. I get more helmet shaking than I'm accustomed to, so sooner or later I'll most likely go for something larger. The trick is deciding which one. There are too many choices!

Enjoy and ride safely.
