Hello and help! Look to maybe get a Versys

Hello all, I am looking to gett a motorcycle again. I miss riding. The last bike I had was a 2006 Yamaha FZ6. Long story of why I don't have it, but I miss it. Loved the bike, fairly comfortable to ride and fast enough for me. Been looking around and saw a brand new 2009 (yes, 2009) Versys in the showroom floor of the local bike shop. I really like the look of the bike and it feels fairly comfortable. Just not sure if the power would be enough to satisfy me or not. They say they can give me a really good deal on it. The one on the floor it green, but they have another one that is blue still in the crate.

First I'm a little worried that they still have new 2009 models.

Does anyone know how it compares to an FZ6? I like the new FZ6r's but I'm not trying to spend too much money.

They are saying I can get the New 2009 Versys for $6000 out the door. I'm thinking that might be a little high, any thoughts?

I many want something to ride for enjoyment. I don't need to got super fast, but I do like to gas it from time to time.

Thanks for any help or suggestions

Jerry

If you're really interested $6000 is fine....imho it's not worth not getting it and having someone else buy it because you think it should be a few $ lower.

Sure the fazer is faster, as is any inline 4 600, but if you were able to go to a track or twisty road and compare times I'd be willing to guess you'd be hard pressed to beat the time you rode on the V with what you can ride on the f6. The insurance and fuel are lower on the V so that's an added bonus. It's a fantastic bike as you can tell if you peruse just about any thread. Don't look for a giant rush of adrenaline but do look for a giant grin as you roll through turns at 8k and drop others if you're a good rider.

The video below sorta speaks for itself. Let us know what you decide.

Thanks for the reply and sharing the video. I'll keep you all posted on what I get. So far though I'm leaning towards the Versys. Going to see how low I can get the dealer down. Also looking for a good used one if I can find one.
