As a Versys newbie, I look forward to the point where I become familiar and confident with the bike's capabilities, but in the meantime I'm sure loving the exploring and surprises! This is my second bike after a nearly 30 year hiatus from motorcycling. My reentry bike was a brand new '07 Honda XR650L, I bought it based, I thought quite cleverly, on my two most favorite bikes from my first go at cycling, a '68 Triumph 650 TR6, and a '72 Honda 250XL. It took four years and 81,900 miles of street riding out of a total of 82,000 to realize what I wanted is not necessarily what I needed.
And so now, I have a Versys. A good deal of my motorcycling pleasure comes from doing my own work and tinkering with my ride. This is my first truly modern motorcycle, and the parallels between it and today's automobiles astounds me. Today it as much electrical as it is mechanical and this fascinates me. With so much to learn and explore I'm quite sure the KawasakiVersysForum will become a much appreciated haven as time and miles accumulate.
See you around!
