V(ersys) in V(ancouver)

Hi from Vancouver, BC. I just got a 2008 Versys from a friend of mine. Other then an aux 12V outlet and Oxford heated grips - it's stock. This will be my third bike, been riding for about 3 1/2 years now. After the motorcycle course, my first bike was an '82 CB750F(still have it), then I got a 91 VFR this past spring... well still have that too, lol. Anyway, as much as I like a lot of things about the VFR, I came to realize I'm not a big fan of the clip ons even on a relaxed VFR. I like standards. I've always liked everything about the Versys and this one just kinda fell in my lap. I borrowed it for a couple of days from the said friend to see if I liked it and he wanted me to buy it off of him. I went on a two hour ride and had the best two hours of riding this year, lol.
Anyway, I'm really excited about the Versys!

Anyway, everybody likes pics so here are some...

Welcome to the forum and the V.
By chance does your CB750 have a collector plate on it? I saw one in Steveston on the weekend that looked like yours and in beautiful shape!

Congrats from the other coast. Have the same bike in the same colour. I would suggest the VStream windshield if you want more wind protection. A lockable Givi top box is really handy if you are using the bike to commute or run errands. Lots of info on this site on both mods.

Yes it does. But it was not me, I haven't taken it to Steveston lately... mind you, I like riding it there for coffee.

Ahhhh, BCSB, home of the immature and over excited tough guys. You'll like it around here with all the grown ups and people willing to help, no drama. Always good to see more V's on the road up here.

No kidding! That forum's probably one of the worst ones I've ever been on for (im)maturity. It's a rude pissing contest it seems, with very little legit discussion going on. I don't post much(which is unlike me) mainly because it's such a turn off - apart from a few exceptions. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one sharing the view.

Like I said you'll enjoy it here. Lots of info on a great ride. The other site started for me with tag and extreme tag. Found a few friends there but most are kids (both in years and mind) who think a keyboard will bring back some power in their lives. If you need anything for the V let me know.

Welcome from North Vancouver.

This summer I started riding with the Vancouver Motorcycle Ryders, a really friendly social group.

Cheers

Although I have had Miss Jaffa (Burnt Orange 2007 Versys) for a while, I still have a lot to learn.

Welcome!

Seeing that VFR reminds me of my old bike - I sold it with 70K miles and it was running perfectly! Although I am still a fan of the clipons (GSXR1K), I do enjoy the V quite a bit as will you.
